H&M: ombrello e sconti/H&M: umbrella and discounts

I recieved a 5 euro H&M discount card and for once I bought something I needed: an umbrella. Isn't it goregeous? *_* (I bought it in August, so I still didn't violate my resolutions).
Reading Marieclaire I discovered that liking their facebook page you'll recieve a 10% discount on an H&M item. This discount is valid until the 15th of September.
In the shop I didn't really like anything of the new collection, so that I had problems to spend my 5 euro. Plus the prices of most things are not so cheap. But I saw pink combat boots and I want them even if they're kitsch and difficult to coordinate U.U

Tendenze d'autunno/Autumn trends

- pois
- stelline, principalmente su sfondo blu scuro o nero
- montone
- scarpe, borse e accessori in pelle marrone

✯✯✯
Assiduous shifting through numerous blogs and new the collections of various brands and after reading MarieClaire, Zipper, Fudge and Grandpa, I feel like I can give an updated version of my trend forecast for this autumn, also because we're almost there.

STYLES
- Retro bon ton, which includes wide-brimmed hats, suspenders, wide legs pans pants, high waist, fur details, capes
- Preppy,
which includes plaid, V-neck cardigans, blazers, black-framed glasses, oxford shoes, leather briefcases etc..
- Creatures of the forest. This trend is not announced, but
you can see everywhere owls, small animal prints, warm autumn colors, mountain style laced up shoes, etc..
- An
ethnic-hippie touch survives the summer, mainly mixed to the bon ton trend in a bohemian style, then the same thing but with more folk prints or accessories. This trend also includes Western-inspired accessories, this season more in a "House on the Prairie" style that in a cowboy one. Examples of this trend are fringed moccasins and long frilled skirts.
- The everkasting casual rock made of slim trousers, leather jackets, black rimmed eyes and black as the base color. Can be interpreted with feminine accessories like beads or bows, or with studded details, skulls, etc..

COLORS, PATTERNS AND MATERIALS
- Another year of sweaters, cardigans and wool in all forms, but the jacquard is declining
- Python pattern retourns. I hate it
- Two opposite
colour trends: on one side warm autumn colors like brown, burgundy, plum, saffron, khaki, on the other the classic black-gray-white combo. This dualism is also noticeable in makeup. In addition, following summer's color block trend, continues the search for strong color combinations.
- Lace is still big, but it turned black
- polka dots
- little stars, in particular on a black or dark blue background
- mounton
- Shoes, handbags and accessories in brown leather
- Fur, but more as a detail than as block as last year

What do you think?
If you want to add some autum trend forecast write it in the comments and I will add it with your name!

Wings (by Aprilynne Pike)

Just to stay on topic, I brought a book about fairies in Ireland.
It 'an urban fantasy, a fantasy set in a
"modern" context, aimed for teenagers. The plot is quite banal, but the crux of the story, the discovery by the protagonist to be a fairy, is solved in an original way. In addition, although beautiful, magical, etc.., Laurel, the heroine, is not too unpleasant. This book is the first of a series. I'm not sure I want to read the others (unless I find super cheap editions), but I liked to read this one.

As the post about Ireland are completed, here are some photos of how I dressed for some days at the seaside with my granny. As before, as I'm publishing a lot of photos I won't bore you with the brand and price of the single items, but if you want to know it tell me in the comments and I'll let you know ^^

Irlanda: ostelli/Ireland: hostels

Backpackers D1 Hostel (Dublin)

Central location, close to the train station and bus terminal and to the shopping streets. Beautiful, but dilapidated structure. Many floors and no elevator. Rooms are very very basic (they don't give you even toilet paper) and not particularly nice. Ban on drinking in the hostel is not even respected by the staff. The staff did a lot of mistakes sending us from an hostel to another (they have another location in the same street), but it also depends on who is on duty. Kitchen equipment is uncomfortable and dirty.
Frequented by young and penniless of various kinds. Better to book on the Internet: by doing it we slept there for a really cheap price, but on the spot prices are substantially higher.

Habour House (Sligo)

Old house of a Sligo's captain. Very beautiful, both inside and outside. It's in an industrial area a bit far from the center: to get into town you have to walk about ten minutes. More like a hotel than an hostel. It's all very nice and clean. Spacious lounge. Perfect kitchen, well equipped and clean, and free milk and cereals for breakfast. Beautiful and comfortable rooms. Every day they write on a blackboard the weather forecast, temperature and where to find live music. They have a computer you can use for free for 20 minutes. Average age of visitors on 40 years. Good value for money.

Sleepzone (Galway)

We stayed only one night but the staff was very kind. Clean and it has a lift. The ban on drinking is respected (we brought cans of cider by mistake and they looked at us badly). The kitchen seemed pretty good, but since there was a huge French schoolgroup were not able to understand well. Good value for money.

Irlanda per pezzenti/Ireland for pennyless

Secondo me, a posteriori, sarebbe bastato il tesserino universitario italiano.
A posteriori avremmo speso MOLTO meno a pagare i singoli viaggi.
Poi, essendo molto ben organizzate, è facilissimo aggiungere una destinazione o modificare l'itinerario all'ultimo senza impazzire. Siobhan è per le Lonley.
  • Abbiamo sempre dormito in ostello.

As the Hairy Half and I had to go to Ireland with not so much money, I'll share our (succesful and not) strategies to save money.
  • To start we booked the cheapest flight with eDreams. We flight with Wizz Air (Ireland's company) and it was good.
  • I bought the ISIC Card that certificates wordwide you're a student and let you have the student discounts. It lasts a year and costs 10 euro. Thinking about it later it was stupid, I think my normal university ID was enough.
  • We used the bus to go around, that is the cheapest method. You should ceck before if the places you want to wisit are well connected and if you don't loose too much time (we wnted to see a park, but there wasn't the bus -_-'), but if you visit big cities there shouldn't be problems. As the Republic of Irland is connected (except for Dublin, but there it's simpler to go around by feet) by the same bus company, we bought the open road pass, a pass that lets you have a number of days of free travel for an extabilished amount of money. Thinking about it later, we would have saved a lot of money if we paid the single trips. It's better to check the costs in advance on the site.
  • At the first Heritage site I bought the Heritage Card (more economical that having it sent before). You pay an amount and have free entry in all Heritage Sites, that are the most beautiful places to visit. It's very cheap for students as they pay it 8€, but the others should do some calculations before (the normal one that costs 21 wasn't good for the Hairy Half as the single places costed less).
  • We bought a Routard guide. It costed 27€, quite a lot, but there were all the bus places, the prices...it was really good on the practical side. The only complaint is that id didn't do a time exteem, so for example we visited Galway in hald a day and didn't know what to do in the other half. Plus it was for a target of beer and music lovers, but we were more on the celtic and magic places (we're nerds). The bus informations were free at the station, so maybe this guide wasn't so convenient. Acalia said Mondadori guides are really good (but I think they're only in italian). She likes Lonley Planet too, If you want to spend some money on a guide. They're more complete, even a bit boring. Instead Siobhan prefers Lonley.
  • We always slept in hostels. Sleeping in dorms you save a lot, but as it was a romantic trip we always booked a double room with bathroom and still spent less than in B&B and hotels. Plus, buying food at the supermarket and eating in the hostels you save a lot because in Ireland food is really expensive. I booked trough www.hostelsclub.com and did the site card, that lasts forever, for 10€ plus spedition. It let you skip the site wages, but is useful only if you use hostels a lot and only through the same site, so now I think it was a bit stupid. Hostels review will follow. Miria said that using hostelworld the site's commissions are subtracted from the total payment. Siobhan adds that in case of cancellation hostelworld gives you back the deposit (wish I knew it before).
  • If you want to have dinner out, use the "early bird" offers (in general you find them eating before 19:00). They're cheaper (Scarabocchio Girl).
More advices? If you write me in the comments I'll add them to the post with your name.

Some photos of how I dressed in Ireland. To tell the truth I always had at least a cardigan and the k-way outside -_-' As I'm publishing a lot of photos I won't bore you with the brand and price of the single items, but if you want to know it tell me in the comments and I'll let you know ^^

Rieccomi/I'm back

(Purtroppo) sono tornata! E ho avuto una bellissima sorpresa! Più di 50 lettori!!! *___* GRAZIE MILLE!!!
- libri e fumetti
- fiere annuali (capodanno celtico, fiera dell'artigianato...)
☼☼☼
(Unluckily) I'm back! And I had a wonderful surprise: more than 50 followers!!! THANK YOU ALL!!! *____* And if everyone tooks a friend you'll be more than 100 XD
Now I'll have an "exciting" september studying for the harder exams of my degree. But to fight the stress I'll go on posting about my holidays.
I was guest of a friend whose father is a restaurant director, but miracolously I didn't put on any weight, so it's official: FINALLY MY DIET ENDS! I have a maintenance diet to follow for a long time, but let's skip this point.
I'm also happy because of the incoming season, autumn is my favourite! I'm looking forward to admire the red leaves and to wear warmer clothes. I have to admit I'm not up to date with the season trends, but I will make up in a short time: I have a lot of japanese and western magazines waiting to be readed and posted.
And like last year, with the new achademic year, come the good resolutions: as this summer (and in general) I did too much shopping and my wardrobe is exploding, I forbid myself going shopping with only these exceptions:
- books and comics
- annual festivals (celtic festivals, artisan fairs...)
- presents for other people
- must occasions (for example if I find the shoes I was craving for for years at only 10 euro or similar). Dangerous point, I mustn't use it as an excuse...
And if I absolutely want someting I have to make it. A spur for creativity. That's it.
I hope you had a good summer!

Irlanda: shopping/Ireland: shopping

To live up my reputation I bought a fashion magazine, but the target was for older people than me, I think. Anyway I appreciated the autumn trends preview.

I bought these t-shirts in Dublin in a place called Noname, that was closing down. I paid 3€ for the first and 5 for the second.

I discovered the shop Penney's, that sells the brand Primark. We don't have it in Italy and I wanted to shop there since I discovered it on Zerudas Wonderland, so I HAD to buy a lot of stuff. I entered in nearly every Penney's I saw.
Mutande/Panties: Primark (50 cent on sale)

Mutande/Panties: Primark (2)
Calzamaglie/Tights: Primark (2)
Coroncina/Wreath: Primark (50 cent on sale)

Ciondoli da borsa/Bag charms: Primark (50 cent on sale). Quello marinaresco si è già rotto, sigh/Primark (50 cent on sale). The nautical one already broke, sigh

Mutande/Panties: Primark (50 cent on sale)

Collana a giostra dei cavallini/Carousel necklace: Primark (1€ on sale)

Borsa/Bag: Primark (6) finalmente possiedo qualcosa di tappezzeria!/Primark (6) Finally I have something tapestry!

Maglietta/T-shirt: Primark (5)

Stivali/Boots: Primark (5)

Anche Dunnes è un marchio che in Italia non esiste e costa molto poco/Dunnes is another brand that doesn't exist in Italy and it's really cheap.

Maglietta/T-shirt: Dunnes (3) era nella sezione pigiami, ma volevo da un sacco qualcosa di Snoopy XD/Dunnes (3) it was in the nightwear section but I wanted a peanuts item for years

E non potevano mancare i souvenir! Ma niente prezzi su quelli che regalo XD/ And I bought souvenirs too! No prices on the presents XD

Collana celtica/Celtic necklace: cattedrale di san Patrizio (6)/St. Patrick cathedral (6)

Maglietta "me lo stanno facendo fare i leprecauni"/"Leprechauns make me do it" tee

Cioccolata alla Guinnes/Guinnes flavoured chocolate

Irlanda: cibo/Ireland: food

Food in Ireland has mayo, chips and cheddar everywhere, but I didn't disliked it as I feared. Instead I fell in love with red cheddar. We mostly ate sandwiches as we where always out and as food costed really a lot.

In the pubs they often offer a sandwitch and soup combo for 5 euro, not bad!

Two typical dishes that are a must: the english breackfast and fish & chips!

Quello che dicono sugli irlandesi è tutto vero...

What they say about irish people is true...

Supermarkets where full of interesting stuff! We liked in particular the Tesco ones, cheap and with a lot of gorgeous food. There where also 24 hour supermarkets called Spar. The most interesting stuff we saw there was an english breackfast kit that was a box with eggs, bacon, etc. sold together at a good price. The foods I liked the most where cheddar, smocked bacon, smocked irish salmon, the fresh Tesco souces, in particular guacamole (I'll mis them!), tomato soup. I also found the drinkable strawberry version of the Activia yogurt!

No, nooooo! Eresiaaaaaaa!!!

That's NOT real italian food!!!

Irlanda: i luoghi/Ireland: places

I returned for a couple of days. I think I won't post a lot, the real comeback will be in september. Meanwhile I'll tell you about my trip in Ireland! It rained all the time and was really cold -_-' As I want to say a lot of things I'll do themed posts.

TARA

Molto suggestivo.

The ancient kings of Ireland were crowned here. Impressive.

Fairies'tree. The stuff on the brunches is an offer for them.

SLIGO

In foto: l'antica abbazia in rovina.

A little colorful city. You can see it all in a day, but it can be a good starting point for visiting other places. The only problem is that it isn't so connected by bus, in particular on Sundays. In the photo: the old abbey.

I loved the flowers in the streets in all Ireland.

CARROWMORE

Le tombe più antiche d'Europa. Vicino a Sligo.

The oldest graves in Europe. Near Sligo.

DONEGALL

You can visit it in half a day. A lot of tourist shops that sell the famous and expensive tweed of the Donegall and the equally expensive Aran knit, that can be famous and stuff, but is itchy. In the photo you can see the main room of the castle.

L'abbazia, usata come polveriera e poi saltata. Oggi è un cimitero.

The abbey, used to store gunpowder so that it exploded. Now it's a graveyard.

STRANDHILL

Piccola città marittima vicino a Sligo, meta di surfisti. Bel panorama.

Small city on the seaside near Sligo, a place for surf. Nice view.

GALWAY

You can visit it in half a day. A modern and commercial city, with a lot of tourist shops and shops in general. The monument in the photo is a false, but they won't tell you XD

NEWGRANGE

Megalithic site near Dublin. It's famous for it's tumulus that recieves solar light in the inside only on the day of the winter solstice. Worth it.

DUBLIN

A lot of places to visit! Our favourite was the archeological museum, that has treasures as a 7.000 years ago pirogue, gorgeous jewels and bodies preserved by bogs.

S. Patrick's church. Really great, but the stands on the inside are shameful.

Nuigurumi on the streets. The oriental boy is thinking "not even here!".

BRAVEHEART

Uno dei luoghi dove l'hanno girato.

Was shot here too.
