Legion

"Legion" is a US 2017 television series, created and produced by Noah Hawley.
It's inspired by the homonymous Marvel Comics character, son of the powerful telepath Charles Xavier, who suffers from mental illness and has multiple personalities, each of which controls one of his powers.
It's the first series produced by Marvel Television not connected with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so it's also unconnected with the X-Man films.
It currently has a single season of 8 episodes lasting between 50 and 60 minutes.
The protagonist is David Haller, a thirty-year-old man closed in a psychiatric clinic due to the schizophrenia diagnosed him during adolescence. A new patient arrives in the hospital, Sydney Barrett, a girl who hates physical contact. David falls in love with her immediately. It is the beginning of an adventure involving a secret research group, a special government corp, and a lot of supernatural powers.
"Legion" can be defined a TV show under LSD for its abundance of dreamy scenes, because it is partially set in the mind of the protagonist (and not only his), but also because there is a strong stylistic appeal to the 70s (although the era of the narration is never specified).
I found the acting, especially the one of the protagonist, really good (although I saw the dubbed version and can judge only partly).
The special effects are wonderful and the setting and music are great too.
The narration is particularly effective for its ambiguity: we don't know whether what we see is true or whether we are in David's head, we do not know whether the characters are really who they say they are and there are no annoying explanations to ruin the alienating effect.
In short, it isn't the classic superhero show, not at all. Someone found it slow and abandoned it (of course, to appreciate it completely you have to overcome the first two episodes) but I found it awesome from the start.
What I was disappointed was the ending which in fact is not an ending at all. I just have to wait for the second season.

Verissimo, a tratti è parecchio inquietante!
