Ancora una volta ho scelto di vestirmi con un tema incomprensibile a tutti tranne che a me. Si tratta del quadro "Visione di sant'Eustachio" di Pisanello, dipinto fra il 1436 e il 1438. Amo questo quadro, appartenente alla corrente del gotico internazionale, per l'unione di uno studio molto accurato e realistico degli animali (i disegni preparatori sono fenomenali) e di una prospettiva totalmente irrealistica. Mostra il momento in cui Eustachio, un cavaliere romano, durante una caccia, ha la visione di Cristo tra le corna di un cervo, in seguito alla quale si converte al cristianesimo.

Del quadro ho ripreso la dominante blu, i fiori e il cervo.

Ci tengo anche a mostrarvi la manicure che mi ha fatto una mia studentessa (ha insistito lei!): la trovo anche molto bella, sobria, ma non noiosa. E poi era parecchio tempo che non mettevo lo smalto!

Once again I chose to dress with a theme incomprehensible to everyone except for myself. It is the painting "Vision of Saint Eustace" by Pisanello, done between 1436 and 1438. I love this painting, which belongs to the international Gothic current, for the union of a very careful and realistic study of the animals (the preparatory drawings are phenomenal) and a totally unrealistic perspective. It shows the moment when Eustace, a Roman knight, has the vision of Christ between the antlers of a deer during a hunt, after which he converts to Christianity.

I also want to show you the manicure that one of my students made me (she insisted!): I find it very beautiful, sober but not boring. And it was a long time that I didn't wear nail polish!
